Product preview: Toshiba Teli CleverDragon featuring 12 megapixels, 25 fps and Global Shutter

Pullach b. München, (PresseBox) - Toshiba Teli has announced the CleverDragon CSC12M25BMP19 camera, aimed at the most demanding, uncompromising requirements of industrial image processing. The camera features a monochrome CMOS chip (24.6mm × 18.5mm sensor area) offering 4096 × 3072 active pixels with a pixel size of 6 x 6 µm and the ability to output 25 frames per second. The frame rate can be increased even further by selecting particular regions of interest (ROI)-for instance, up to 48,662 fps are possible when outputting individual scan lines with a bit depth of 10 bits. Furthermore, the highly sensitive sensor enables to take low noise pictures-with a high dynamic range due to the multi-slope exposure method. A global shutter enables distortion-free imaging of fast-moving objects as required for the most machine vision applications.

The CleverDragon body sized 75mm × 75mm × 69.5mm is fitted with a 48mm TFL II mount matching the CMOS sensor's dimensions and enabling lens configurations of high optical quality. Regular F mount lenses can also be fitted with the help of an optional adaptor. The monochrome image signals are output with a bit depth of 8 or 10 bits via two CameraLink interfaces located on the rear of the camera. FRAMOS is expecting to present the 12 megapixels CleverDragon camera to the public at the VISION trade fair in Stuttgart (4 to 6 November 2008, hall 8, booth no. B19). Availability of the camera in large quantities is envisaged for the end of the year. Samples are presumably available in autumn.
