Electronica 2014

FRAMOS presents a wide range of image processing components at Electronica

(PresseBox) (Taufkirchen, )
The biggest selection of image sensors and a unique portfolio of industrial cameras and accessories combined with individual engineering services – all served up by FRAMOS at “Electronica” from 11 to 14 November in Munich.

The Munich based image processing specialist brings its sensor competence into focus with a wide selection of image sensors from the leading sensor manufacturers SONY and OnSemi/Aptina. The 2014 highlights include CMOS Global Shutter sensors from SONY which, thanks to their high sensitivity and wide dynamic range, deliver the best performance at the lowest price for many applications. OnSemi/Aptina presents its portfolio of high-quality sensors and demonstrates how customers can implement application solutions in a quick and innovative way.

Image acquisition: High-performance solutions for industrial applications

In addition to image acquisition sensors, FRAMOS will be presenting its extensive portfolio of industrial cameras. High-speed transfer, increased resolution and transfer rates and new interface options are all the subjects of the Lumenera, Hitachi, Emergent Vision, Teli and SVS Vistek demonstrations.
Camera manufacturer SMARTEK Vision will present the Giganetix Plus camera range for high-resolution Multi-Tap CCDs together with the latest and highly acclaimed SONY CMOS sensor IMX174 version. With its GigE Vision-compatible Giganetix camera series, SMARTEK Vision offers visitors an extensive range of products for the highly cost-efficient automation of production, packaging and quality assurance systems.

SONY offers the right choice in the areas of security, monitoring and automation with the FCB block camera series as well as the most compact Full-HD OEM camera module on the market – the miniature camera module FCB-MA130. With up to 40x optical zoom and equipped with SONY Exmor CMOS or Super HAD CCD sensors that are available with Full HD and 60 fps, these block cameras achieve television quality high resolution and sensitivity. The FCB-MA130 is the ultra-compact zoom camera module for OEM with miniature dimensions, enabling easy and fast integration into users’ systems with plug-and-play recognition via USB 3.0 and standard UVC.

Visiosens, the specialist for customer-specific camera developments, presents its latest development – a completely wireless video camera. The solution will be of interest to many application areas, including for example manufacturers of medical technology as it offers doctors and laboratories wireless handling and therefore total freedom of movement. These benefits are especially important in fields such as endoscopy.

Image display: Improved diagnoses with a first-class display

In many applications, it is not just the recording of images that matters, but also the ability to display richly contrasted images with accurate colour reproduction. To answer to this requirement, SONY's first OLED displays for industry and medicine will be presented at Electronica, setting a new benchmark. The integration of the recently developed “Super Top Emission” technology from SONY in these state-of-the art OLED (“organic light-emitting diode”) displays opens up a whole new dimension of speed, contrast and precise colour reproduction for the fields of television, microscopy and especially medical diagnostics where more accurate analyses of tissue images provides more reliable diagnoses. The SONY OLEDs, which measure 7.4 to 24.5 inches, can be easily integrated into any system and include a special algorithm that considerably extends the service life of the display.

Customers benefit from the latest image processing technologies

In addition to a wide range of product innovations, FRAMOS will also demonstrate aspects of its ongoing research projects, such as photovoltaic panel inspection using the InGaAs cameras from Primetech / Riken Dengu. In addition to their technical competence, FRAMOS and Riken Dengu will show how easy it is to benefit from image processing in a varied range of industries, in order to effectively save time and resources.

The experts on the FRAMOS stand also offer free advice on the subject of developing image processing systems, customised camera developments and implementation of complex image processing and compression algorithms on FPGAs.

So, if you wish to find out how companies can increase process automation and quality assurance, while also achieving more effective production and research, please visit FRAMOS at Stand 101 in Hall A4.
