FOBA G3: New Laser Workstation for Premium High-Precision Laser Markings and Engravings

(PresseBox) (Selmsdorf/Lüdenscheid, )
With FOBA G3 FOBA Laser Marking + Engraving introduces a novel workstation for the high-precision and repeatable laser marking and engraving of small workpieces.

Versatile: 2-in-1 Laser Workstation

FOBA G3, laser workstation for material processing, belongs to FOBA's line of laser engraving machines but bridges the gap to FOBA's alllaser marking machines: The G3 station is ideal for highly-precise deep engravings but also for brilliant laser markings in small and premium parts. This predestines FOBA G3 for varied laser marking and engraving applications in the medical technology industry and fine engraving sector as well as for numerous applications in the metal, tool and mold production. The 2-in-1 laser marking and engraving machine applies finest 2D/3D engravings on 3D surfaces and marks medical instruments, equipment and implants as well as luxury goods such premium watches and jewelry.

Vision Alignment for Precision and Repeatability

Powerful solid state lasers, the automatic vision system IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning) and the manual vision system Point & ShootTM ensure short processing times and high-precision. FOBA G3 excels wherever absolute marking and reproduction accuracy are demanded: from the marking of small plastic and metal parts to the engraving of filigree 2D/3D textures and patterns on 3D surfaces. The patented camera system IMP automatically detects workpieces and their positioning, and adjusts the marking/ engraving accordingly. With Point & ShootTM marking contents are positioned manually directly on a screen image of the product. Both imaging systems allow for upfront verification of what the mark will look like and where it will be. In addition, IMP and Point & ShootTM assist in reducing expensive fixtures and eliminating time consuming trial-and-error processes. Scrap and mismarked parts are reduced, and a consistent highest marking/ engraving quality and accuracy is guaranteed.

Compact, Convenient, Easy to Handle

With a width of 80cm, a height of 1.90m and a footprint of 1.4 m2, FOBA G3 fits through standard doors. As a result of the compact design, the workstation can easily be integrated into any lab environment. The stable machine frame and alignable and repeatable axes ensure repeatable machine operation, accurate markings and exact documentation over a significant period of time. The ergonomic workstation for standing and seated work accommodates the individual user's needs: The input table (with monitor, keyboard) is vertically adjustable, the monitor can also be swivelled. All axes can be easily set with the standard handwheel so that the workstation can be set up either manually or fully automatically. FOBA EMC and FOBA MarkUSTM, the intuitive user interfaces for engraving and marking, create user-friendly and flexible programming environments with program traceability.

Green and Efficient

With G3 FOBA introduces an ecofriendly as well as efficient laser workstation: "The G3 station's technical master plan is highly innovative and meets all ergonomic requirements. The system is completely optimized with regard to its energy footprint and can be utilized for a wide range of applications. The system is completely air-cooled and gets along without a high-maintenance, expensive and space-consuming water cooling," says Uwe Plath, FOBA product manager for integrated solutions.

Modular Concept: Individual and Customer-Specific Configuration

Thanks to its modular design, the FOBA G3 laser workstation can be customized according to the respective application. The laser that is to be integrated in the class 1 enclosure is freely selectable. FOBA's range of fiber laser markers (FOBA DP20F, DP30F, DP50F) and grayscale laser markers (DP10GS [Vanadate], DP30FGS) fit into the machine. Customers can choose between the X/Y cross table version with 300mm travel of the X, Y and Z axes or the 630mm rotary table version with 200mm bulkhead. The user interfaces are available in English and German, the MarkUSTM suite is also available in Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish and Italian.

The laser marking software FOBA MarkUSTM is included in the standard delivery of the single-phase machine. FOBA EMC, software for (3D) laser engravings, is available as an option. The G3 can be extended up to five axes with a swivel axis and a rotary unit. With this, the G3 can be optimally adapted to the respective laser marking/engraving application.

FOBA G3, the flexible laser workstation for part marking and engraving is the consistent further development within the FOBA G series' laser engraving machines.
