XCOM AG significantly increases turnover and profit in 2010
- Sales revenue increased to 24.6 million Euro (18,3 %)
- Annual net profit rose to 2.4 million Euro (20,6 %)
- Return on sales (result from ordinary business activities based on sales revenues) rose from 13,9 % (2009) to 20,0 % (2010)
- Personnel and material costs increased disproportionately in relation to the turnover; number of employees rises to over 200 at the end of 2010
- Intensive research and development activities
The business development of the software development group based in Willich (Niederrhein) has been very positive in 2010. The company's profit situation compared to the previous year is marked by an increase in turnover of 18,3 % as well as a significant increase of work in progress of 973 TEuro.
This very positive development was accompanied by a disproportional increase of personnel costs of 9,7 % and other operating expenses of 7,8 %. The return on sales (result from ordinary business activities based on sales revenues) rose from 13,9 % in 2009 to 20,0 % in 2010.
The very clear increase of the ordinary business activities of 70,8 % compared to the previous year impressively reflects both the positive business development and the unchanged distinctive cost consciousness of the XCOM AG.
The balance sheet of the XCOM AG includes cash and cash equivalents of about 4,99 Mio. €.
During the last year, the company continued to successfully strengthen its position as a full-service provider of banking specific IT-products and services, including insourcing services for the cost-effective use of automated business transactions at banks, brokers and other financial service providers.
During the reporting year of 2010 XCOM AG and biw Bank für Investments- und Wertpapiere AG succeeded in acquiring a major technology and insourcing project at the IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG.
The business area "Institutional securities trading" with its subareas "Software development" and "§25a-Insourcing" is still an important pillar of the group. The newly developed off-exchange trading platform L.O.X. (Limit order Xervices), operated together with the Xervices GmbH for the Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank, has been successfully established in the market.
Another successful flagship in2010 of the XCOM AG has been the ebanking product suite. Important projects in this segment with a high perception in the market have been implemented and started with the Deutsche Bank AG, Commerzbank AG, in cooperation with the GAD eG at the Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank eG, at Bankhaus Berenberg, in close cooperation with the Postbank group, at the HSH Nordbank, the VTB Bank Deutschland and last but not least at the Deutsche Post AG. Here, XCOM AG developed and successfully implemented for the "Renten-Service" (pension service) of the Deutsche Post a new SEPA-payment transaction platform. Already at the end of March 2011, about 11 million monthly pension payments with a volume of 13 billion € have been converted to SEPA. At mid-year the numbers will increase to about 18 million payments with a volume of about 20 billion €.
XCOM will systematically expand this product group within the following months in order to secure and extend the achieved market leadership.
Referring to the current year 2011, the management of the group based in Willich is moderately optimistic due to the numerous existing risks (debt crisis, conflicts in the Middle East, nuclear disaster in Japan).
Matthias Albrecht, CEO XCOM, emphasizes: "We are still very well positioned and will be able to introduce very interesting products to the market within the next months. This will enable us to further increase our achieved reputation in the German banking market. XCOM continues to invest significantly in research and development in 2011, especially considering the extended activities of the group on the African continent. XCOM recently founded a subsidiary, the XCOM Afrika GmbH.
XCOM holds promising discussions with numerous customers regarding the expansion of business relations and furthermore generated new renowned acquisitions already during the first quarter of 2011.
Especially the successfully implemented - after a period of only four months - project with IKB attracted great attention in the market. The unique combination of XCOM as the complete system provider and biw as the white-label transaction bank should soon result in new projects.
Another product that has just been launched in the mobile payment sector market and has already been piloted after a development time of almost 1 1/2 years, attracts great interest of banks, telecommunication providers and commerce.
The overall positive and sustainable development of the XCOM AG is in particular the result of the high quality standard and the enormous motivation of our employees.
