At Festo's main stand, visitors can find out once more this year how development engineers learn from nature. In the Bionic Learning Network, a cooperation between Festo and universities, institutes and development companies, the engineers have explored and further developed technical concepts and industrial applications on the basis of models from nature - at this year's Hanover Trade Fair particularly with a view to future production and working worlds.
What new types of human-machine cooperation and interaction are possible in production? How can people be supported in their work, even with increasing age? Festo intends to make use of its findings from the Bionic Learning Network to develop new technologies and solutions in automation, while at the same time meeting the current challenges faced by society by means of sustainable concepts. Flying objects will also be seen once more at the stand in 2012...
Energy-efficient solutions in production
Whether it be in the design of automation solutions, in compressed air systems, or in the operation of equipment: Festo's engineers constantly give thought to the question of how energy can be used in production more transparently and efficiently. How these measures are implemented for the individual user, what a company's own carbon balance looks like, or how its CO2 footprint can be optimised by selecting the appropriate pneumatic or electric technology - all this is demonstrated by the experts at the main stand.
Water/wastewater management in urban infrastructures
For the first time, Festo will also be represented at the 2012 Hanover Trade Fair at the "Metropolitan Solutions" special exhibition on the topic of "Future Models for Urban Infrastructures" in Hall 26. Festo's process automation will present automation solutions in the field of water/wastewater management in large cities - from automated drinking water treatment, via the supply of drinking and industrial water, up to energy efficiency and optimisation of life cycle costs in the water economy.
