Paint Expo Eurasia with Brilliant Premiere
International Trade Fair for Industrial Coating Technology Well Accepted in Istanbul (Turkey)
The first PaintExpo Eurasia presented a brilliant premiere in Istanbul from the 6th through the 8th of October, 2011: With 98 exhibitors from various disciplines in the field of industrial painting technology, event promoters FairFair GmbH and Artkim Fuarcilik succeeded in organising an exhibition which covered the entire spectrum of liquid painting and powder coating. The comprehensive offerings attracted 2784 visitors from 35 countries to the Turkish metropolis, 16% of whom came from outside of Turkey. The visitors’ technical know how and their concrete tasks fostered intensive technical discussion and interesting contacts. “Roughly 90% of the people who visited out booth were experts from the field of industrial coating technology who came to the trade fair with specific requirements. The other 10% were gathering general information. Participation at PaintExpo Eurasia was a complete success for us”, reports Ahmet Marangoz, managing director of Ilke Makina located in Izmir. And thus there’s no question for Marangoz that his company will be represented with a larger booth at the upcoming event in 2013. “We’re already waiting for the hall floor plan for the next trade fair, so that we’ll be able to secure an appropriate booth location for a larger presentation as early as possible”, he adds. Ogün Okyar, Export Manager at the Turkish company Iba Kimya Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S., arrived at similar conclusions: “It was a successful trade fair for us. We were able to maintain business relations with exiting customers and establish solid new contacts. That’s why we’re hoping that PaintExpo Eurasia will be held regularly in the future.” The goal of canvassing new customers in Turkey and other neighbouring countries prompted Kambiz Hamzehlou of Iranian-based Rangin Pushesh Poodr Co. to participate at the premiere. “The visitors are experts, and we were able to pick up highly valuable leads. For a first-time trade fair, PaintExpo Eurasia went very well, and we assume that things will get even better the next time round”, concludes the managing director. Suat Kanyilmaz, marketing and sales manager at Durstsafa, also confirms that it was a good decision to participate at the first international trade fair for industrial coating technology: “We had very good discussions with companies from Turkey and other countries, roughly 50% of whom we hadn’t heard of before. We’ll be visiting a lot of them after the trade fair, in order to implement solutions involving blasting and painting systems.
Interesting Growth Markets
Turkey and the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) are highly interesting markets for Western European companies as well. This is due to the strong presence of industries such as automotive, truck and farming equipment manufacturing, household appliances, and equipment and machinery manufacturing. A large portion of the products manufactured here are exported to the Arab countries and Asia. These are top quality goods for which correspondingly high demands are also placed on painting. “PaintExpo Eurasia provided us with the opportunity of making a solid presentation in this region. On the one hand, we wanted to establish contacts with various companies and, on the other hand, we wanted to look for collaboration and joint-venture partners. We succeeded at both levels. Due to the fact that the event was very well organised by FairFair and Artkim, we’ll be participating at the trade fair in the years to come as well”, reports Aldin Turudic, sales director for industrial coatings at Krefelder Feidal Lackfabrik GmbH & Co. KG. Edwin Beuk, System sales manager for industrial coating systems at Nordson Deutschland GmbH travelled to Istanbul with similar goals. And for him as well, the trip has paid off: “For me, this is one of the best trade fairs I’ve participated at in recent times.”
After a successful initial event, numerous exhibitors have already made firm plans to take part at the next PaintExpo Eurasia, which will take place in autumn 2013.
