Testprogramm deckt Pixel-Fehler auf Umtauschrecht ab drei gleichartigen Defekten

Bonn – Hat ein LCD-Monitor mehr als zehn verschiedenfarbige Pixel-Fehler, kann er umgetauscht werden. Darauf macht der Informationsdienst „RUN LINUX!“ (www.run-linux.de) aus dem Fachverlag für Computerwissen aufmerksam. In der Regel greife die Garantie jedoch schon bei drei ständig weißen Pixeln. Dieser häufig produktions¬bedingte und optisch auf Dauer störende Fehler ist an ständig in der gleichen Farbe leuchtenden oder stets unverändert schwarzen Bildpunkten an immer derselben Stelle erkennbar.

Käufer von LCD-Monitoren sollten wissen, dass dies nichts Ungewöhnliches ist. Wie viele Fehler in welcher Bildposition letztlich hingenommen werden müssen, sei je nach Produkt unterschiedlich und auf der Internetseite oder bei der Hotline des jeweiligen Herstellers zu erfahren.

Die Anzahl von Pixelfehlern lasse sich mit dem Freeware-Programm „DPT“ auch unter Linux/Ubuntu ermitteln, Download-Adresse www.dps.uk.com. Da es sich um ein Windows-Programm handelt ist vorher die Open-Source-Software „Wine“ (www.winehq.org) zu installieren. Da LCD-Monitore in der Regel nach der Pixelfehler¬klasse 2 zertifiziert sind, dürfen maximal nur zwei weiße, zwei schwarze und sechs rote, grüne oder blaue Pixel defekt sein. Wird auch nur eine dieser Grenzen über¬schritten, handelt es sich um einen Garantiefall. „In 99,9 Prozent der Fälle tauschen die Firmen problemlos um“, so der Informationsdienst „RUN LINUX!“.
