faCellitate strengthens its international distribution network

(PresseBox) (Mannheim, )
faCellitate, a venture team of Chemovator GmbH, the internal business incubator of BASF, and a specialist in the development of polymeric surface coatings for cell culture consumables, announced today their first distribution agreements. “Fueled by the positive customer feedback on our first product line – BIOFLOAT, we quickly identified best-in-class partners to increase our global reach”, explains Dr. Veronique Schwartz, team leader of faCellitate. “Therefore, we are proud to have entered into a distribution agreement with Swift Analytical for the British cell biology and pharmaceutical market, as well as with CarlioBioTec for Italy and Labpanda for Hong Kong”, says Dr. Schwartz. “Throughout these collaborations we can reach more customers and strengthen our local presence. All three distributors are strong leaders in their regions with a well-established network of academic and pharmaceutical contacts. With these partnerships we are confident to provide our customers with the best service possible”, explains Dr. Schwartz further.

“In addition, we have signed a distribution agreement with Primacyt, a leading provider of primary cells and services for biomedical and cell biology research”, adds Dr. Simon Widmaier, business development manager of faCellitate. ”The  BIOFLOATTM 96 well plates are an ideal addition for their cell culture product portfolio. This collaboration will enable us to reach a larger audience and provide a more personalized service for toxicological studies with primary liver cells. These agreements are a major step for faCellitate to strengthen its international distribution network”, summarizes Dr. Widmaier.

faCellitate GmbH

faCellitate is a Venture Team of Chemovator GmbH. It was created in 2018 from a BASF research project by an interdisciplinary team consisting of chemists and biologists with long-term experience in material design. The resulting product ideas have been developed to market maturity in the Chemovator, the internal business incubator of BASF. faCellitate specializes in the development of polymer surface coatings for laboratory consumables to create a fully synthetic, biologically relevant environment for cell-based assays. The highly defined and standardized products are used in areas of biomedical research such as cancer and stem cell research, early drug discovery and toxicology to enable and significantly refine the efficiency and predictability of preclinical cell-based models. In May 2020, the team launched BIOFLOAT ™, their first product line that offers an advanced cell-inert surface coating for 3D culture with superior reliability and consistency. Further products leveraging faCellitate’s smart polymer platform are in development.
