eyevis LED Video Wall Modules for MDR’s „BRISANT“ Studio

Since middle of September viewers of fast-paced news ARD-programme „Brisant“, which is produced by the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk in their Leipzig TV studio, are attracted by a studio design with two eyevis LED-displays providing the visuals accompany

Two video displays using eyevis‘ 1.5mm LED modules in customized format with a screen diagonal of 65 inch each guarantee best image image quality in the studio background. They have replaced two 46-inch LCD screens in the existing “Brisant” set design, which only allows minimal depth for the displays.

The two specially designed LED surfaces had to meet a series of technical specifications, including being high resolution, with set off electronics and no picture distortion. As the required format could be achieved using the standard eyeLED modules, new customized modules had to be designed to fulfil the customer specification.

The LED displays also had to be adjusted to the colour temperature of the artificial light in the TV studio, in Leipzig, which is around 3200K. Thanks to special processing inside the electronics of the LED modules this colour temperature adjustment can be achieved with no remarkable loss in brightness of the displayed images.

eyevis Provides Highest Quality and Resolution
Brisant is a fast moving news and current affairs show broadcast six days a week, Monday to Saturday. The programme is produced by the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) which is part of the ARD, a consortium of public broadcasters in Germany.

Dieter Steffen, Sales Manager Broadcast of eyevis, on the decision for eyevis LED modules: “We are delighted that eyevis products, which demonstrate the highest quality and resolution, longevity as well as the best support and service, are being used on such as prestigious news programme on daily television.“
