Transparent OLED display with state-of-the-art touch technology

eyevis presents a variation of the new TOLED displays with frameless glass surface and 40 simultaneous touch points

(PresseBox) (Reutlingen, )
At first sight, it looks like a large glass surface, but it is in fact a transparent display: Wherever it is put to use, the EYE-TOLED-5500 is a fascinating eye-catcher even in its standard version. The latest variation EYE-TOLED-5500-TGIF40 combines this innovative display with the state-of-the-art InGlassTM touch technology by Flatfrog, a leading Swedish company in the field of touch technology. InGlassTM implements 40 simultaneous and highly reliable touch points, which allow for working on multiple interactive elements at the same time. First and foremost however, InGlassTM enables a homogeneous glass surface without noticeable bezels as seen in IR systems and without a visible metal mesh as used in PCAP and PCT touch systems – an outstanding advantage for the elegant TOLED displays. “With any other touch technology, we would have needed to add a conspicuous frame to the EYE-TOLED-5500. The high-quality InGlassTM touch surface without a protruding frame, on the other hand, further enhances the display”, explains Joachim Vollmer, eyevis product manager for displays. The surface is furthermore easy to clean and sufficiently robust to withstand frequent usage in publicly accessible areas.
Thanks to the high resolution of touch recognition, writing remains detailed and easy to work with, even when using very fine input pens. Yet another strong suit of the InGlassTM touch surface is wipe effects from the frame towards the centre, which are often problematic for other touch technologies.

Transparent OLED displays by eyevis
All variations of the EYE-TOLED-5500 feature convincing high transparency. All black image content is displayed transparent, while the active self-luminous image points put forward very brilliant colours. As a display superimposed above or in front of products and exhibits, the EYE-TOLED-5500 creates a unique multi-layer-impression: Fixed and moving images are superimposed on real objects, which gives rise to an impressive new presentation format. The innovative display type can also be integrated in the centre of a room between object and viewer and draws the attention of the viewer back and forth between the background and the display. This effect creates a fascinating depth, thus attracting attention.
The new eyevis display also convinces in terms of its specs, with its outstanding image quality in Full HD resolution, high contrast, extremely short response time and radiant colours even from an extreme viewing angle up to 178° from both sides.
The touch version of the transparent OLED display will be available for delivery as early as in June. “Since the very announcement of the touch version EYE-TOLED-5500-TGIF40, our clients have been showing great interest in the new display”, says Vollmer. “Both technologies – the transparent OLED display and the InGlass TouchTM surface – have already been causing a furore on their own. In combination, they will be our definite highlight!”
