ITEC: Optimal simulation with realistic latency-free images

Visual display solutions by eyevis support realistic simulators

(PresseBox) (Reutlingen, )
eyevis, a German manufacturer of visual display systems for professional applications, presents its entire portfolio for demanding simulation applications at stand E160 at ITEC in London (17-19 May 2016). eyevis places great importance on the displays’ closeness to reality, which lays the foundation for successful training.
Particularly in VR applications, the visual displays with the DLP® projectors of the ESP series convince with their flexibility. With different optics, they can be optimised for every projection surface. In the screening room of the exhibition stand, they give proof of their outstanding image quality, including during a night visual simulation. There is furthermore a special eye-catcher: a robot-assisted gondola with motion simulation, which also demonstrates the nominal latency and the high synchronicity of eyevis’ products.
“Our projector and display solutions offer utterly realistic images,” states Christoph Pfäffle, Sales Manager for VR/Simulation at eyevis. “ITEC is one of the key events, where we present these solutions.”

Bright, durable and realistic colour display
The professional DLP® projectors from eyevis‘ ESP series are ideally suited for static and moving simulators in military and civilian fields of application. They are authorized by the German Federal Aviation Office for the usage in Level D full flight simulators. The prerequisites for this, such as brilliant colour quality, high luminous efficacy coupled with a minimal black level as well as the long operating life of the inserted cluster LEDs of more than 80 000 hours, are all already inherent features of eyevis’ ESP projectors.
The operators of simulators can choose from a wide variety of different resolutions, ranging from XGA (1024×768px) to WQXGA (2560×1600px). The robust workmanship of eyevis’ ESP projectors and their innovative heat pipe cooling system without mechanically movable parts furthermore allow for long maintenance intervals and additionally expand the devices’ opportunities of application.
As an optional feature, the projectors can be equipped with eyevis’ Auto-Colour-Tracking system, which will automatically match all projectors in a multi-channel installation.

Realistic motion simulations
Together with the company Buck Engineering & Consulting GmbH, eyevis will present a robot-assisted motion simulator, which can perform realistic simulations. The simulator contains two of eyevis’ ESP-LWXT-1000 projectors with innovative dome optics. They project images directly on the inner surface of the simulator gondola, with the dome optics creating a consistently sharp image despite the curved projection surface. The simulator is equipped with an arm with a great scope of motion, which simulates real movements and inverted flight. The accompanying strong motive forces significantly improve the simulation, but are also a challenge for the technical components. Thanks to their robust structure with the sturdy metal casing, eyevis projectors are ideally suited to still withstand the arising forces in such environments, where they are exposed to strong vibrations.

Sharp images also on curved projection surfaces
Fittingly, beside its ESP projectors, eyevis will also present its entire portfolio of projector optics at ITEC. Depending on the projection distance, the geometry and the scale of the image to be displayed, clients can select the ideal solution for their simulators.
The new ESP-OPT-110-100 0.5:1 optic enables the adjustment of an ideal sharpness on a curved projection surface with its two built-in focus rings. The appropriate curvature for the respective surface is set via the first focus ring and the sharpness for the overall image is adjusted via the second focus ring. Thus, a perfectly sharp image emerges.
