Seit März 2004 wertet der SPIXX monatlich 180 wichtige Keywords aus 15 Kategorien aus und ermittelt so Verschiebungen und Trends. Stichtag für die Erstellung der in Umfang und Aussagekraft einzigartigen Analyse ist der 10. jedes Monats.
Hauptverantwortlich für die Preissteigerung in der Kategorie „Computing“ sind die Keywords „Scanner“ (plus 73 Prozent), „Beamer“ (plus 67 Prozent) und „Monitor“ (plus 57 Prozent) - wogegen die Begriffe „PC“ und „Laserdrucker“ sogar etwas günstiger wurden.
Der Preisrückgang in der Wellness- und Reisebranche verteilt sich vergleichsweise gleichmäßig. Beim Begriff „Kur“ sparen die Werbetreibenden 27 Prozent, bei „Hotel“ 45 Prozent. Wahrscheinliche Ursache sind gesunkene Umsatzerwartungen pro Klick zum Ende der Hauptsaison.
Interessante Sonderentwicklungen zeigen sich in der Kategorie „Dienstleistung“: Bei den Keywords „Datenrettung“ und „Software Entwicklung“ nutzen einige Werbetreibende verstärkt die Suchmaschinen des Partnernetzwerks Overture. Für „Software Entwicklung“ (plus 49 Prozent) liegt der Preis nun sogar höher als bei Google.
