The first Ex Libris distributorship worldwide, Atlantis was central in introducing, implementing, and supporting the entire Ex Libris product suite in the Italian and Slovenian market. Amongst the over 70 prestigious academic and national institutions running Ex Libris products in these countries are the Bank of Italy, the National and University Library in Slovenia, the universities of Genova, Firenze, Padova, and Siena, and the Camera dei Deputati and Senato della Repubblica--the two institutions that make up the Italian parliament.
"The very long friendship between Ex Libris and Atlantis began back in the 1980s, in the early days of library automation," explains Erwin Linthout, general manager of Atlantis s.r.l. "We are proud to have contributed to the incredible growth of Ex Libris in Italy and in Europe during the 20 years of our association with the Company. We are very pleased that Ms. Morotti will be continuing the Atlantis tradition in her new role with Ex Libris Italy. She has been extremely instrumental in introducing many of our customers to the Ex Libris products they use and in working with them to implement these solutions in their libraries and to enhance their Ex Libris product suite to meet the evolving needs of the institutions they serve. This in-depth knowledge of the local customer base will be a valuable asset as she assumes the responsibility for this thriving office."
"Atlantis s.r.l. has done an outstanding job in developing the Ex Libris customer base in Italy and Slovenia and in supporting these customers over the years," comments Marc Daubach, corporate vice president and general manager, Europe at Ex Libris. "Forward-thinking and creative members of the Ex Libris user community, members of this regional customer base are active participants in both local and international Ex Libris user group activity. We are pleased to be opening the 10th Ex Libris office in this dynamic region."
