Bonn. Direct procurement is dominant in Italy, especially as 75% of all high-volume installers surveyed in the "European PV InstallerMonitor 2014/2015" purchase modules directly from the manufacturers. SunPower is the main PV brand in Italy, as most of the installers carry the brand in their portfolio and were able to spontaneously mention the brand. Furthermore, Italian end customers rarely request a specific brand, but when they do, they most often ask for SunPower. Local manufacturers Solsonica and Torri Solare were able to establish themselves in the top 15 of most used brands. In addition, half of all surveyed installers either already offer energy storage or are planning to do so. Local manufacturer Fiamm is amongst the most-known energy storage manufacturers in Italy. Due to the high electricity prices this technology shows a high potential in Italy.
These are some of the many results of EuPD Research's annual monitoring of installers. Over 750 companies in Europe were surveyed and questioned about their procurement behavior, product portfolio, satisfaction with and recommendation of brands, as well as energy storage solutions. The "European PV InstallerMonitor 2014/2015" will be offered with a special price advantage of 40% until 31st July 2015.
