EUMETSAT participated in the 4th Extreme Weather Congress held in Bremerhaven on 19-21 February. The congress brought together scientists, politicians, business, members of national and private meteorological services, journalists, and radio and television meteorologists.
Mikael Rattenborg, EUMETSAT's Operations Director, gave a presentation on the first day of the congress on current and future space-based observations of extreme weather by Meteosat geostationary satellites, the EUMETSAT Polar System and the Jason-2 ocean altimetry satellite.
