Keynote speakers at this year's ESMT Annual Forum are Michael Diekmann (Allianz), Kurt Bock (BASF), and Peter Bakker (World Business Council for Sustainable Development). The ESMT Responsible Leadership Award ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. with this year’s recipient Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council, personally accepting the award. “It is a great honor to receive this award from ESMT. Europe has faced major and unexpected challenges in the recent past. Our mission remains to preserve the achievements of our Union and to make sure that the countries of our continent are ready to face the future,” said Herman Van Rompuy.
Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, global head of Public Policy and Economic Research at Allianz and chairman of the Munich Security Conference, will present Herman Van Rompuy with the award. Past recipients of the ESMT Responsible Leadership Award include Mario Draghi, president of the European Central Bank; Mario Monti, former prime minister and senator-for-life of the Republic of Italy; Güler Sabancı, chairman and managing director of Turkey’s Sabancı Holding; and N.R. Narayana Murthy, co-founder and chairman emeritus of Infosys.
“We have once again brought together a diverse group of renowned experts to discuss future challenges and possible solutions for companies, especially in terms of technological developments and sustainability,” commented ESMT president Jörg Rocholl. “ESMT will continue to promote these types of discussions and to provide a platform for international exchange of ideas in the future.”
