ENISA fordert ein gemeinsames Bemühen von Endnutzern und Dienstleistern zum Schutz unserer Online-Identität

In der Cyber-Welt wird unsere Identität von unseren Benutzernamen und Passwörtern widergespiegelt. Für Benutzer ist es wichtig, Passwörter sicher aufzubewahren, um sicherheitsrelevante Vorkommnisse wie Identitätsdiebstahl zu vermeiden. Von Online-Dienstleistern (die Benutzernamen und Passwörter speichern) sollte daher dasselbe verlangt werden. Wenn die Sicherheit an einem der beiden Enden beeinträchtigt wird, entstehen Probleme. Probleme entstehen, wenn die Sicherheit an einem der beiden Enden beeinträchtigt ist.

Passwörter schützen sensible Informationen - seien es finanzielle oder gesundheitsrelevante Daten, privates Material, geistiges Eigentum, Kundenlisten, usw. Dennoch kam es bereits in der ersten Jahreshälfte 2012 zu Datenschutzverletzungen bei Millionen von Bürgern und deren persönliche Daten einschließlich Passwort-Informationen. ENISA drängt daher Dienstleister dazu vorbeugende Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, um einen besseren Schutz sensibler Daten zu gewährleisten.
