IDC Contact for Surface Mount Saves Costs

(PresseBox) (Tuningen, )
Edac's innovative ideas become apparent in the new single IDC contacts for SMD mounting on PC boards.

Often, the need to solder wires into PC boards creates costs far in excess of the SMD assembly as this process is extremely labour intensive and a source of failure. These IDC contacts which can be assembled and soldered onto the board in the same SMT process as the other components solves this problem in a cost-effective way.

The solution was engineered for a company which required wires to be connected to a potted mini PCB and is an example of EDAC's ability at finding cost-saving connection solutions.
