New duo for CompactPCI-Serial: Power board and five-slot-backplane - now also with right-sided system slot

Elma complements product range

(PresseBox) (Pforzheim, ) Besides its three-, five- and nine-slot-versions with left-sided systemslot, the backplane specialist Elma Electronic now also offers a five-slot-CPCI-serial-backplane with right-sided systemslot. This perfectly fits into the product range as it offers even more variability when designing systems with the increasingly important CompactPCI-Serial technology.

The new backplane with its system slot on the right side offers customers more flexibility. Even double-width CPUs can be used without having to make constructional changes. Moreover, compared to the version with right-sided system slot, it does not cover additional slots.

Its high-speed connectors support data transfer rates of up to 12 Gb/s. Backplanes product manager Toma Lenga about the new product: "With the extension, Elma reacts to numerous customer inquiries. With more and more card manufacturers offering powerful CPCI-S-products, we enable our system customers, with the five-slot-backplane with right-sided system slot and the new power board, even more flexibility".

The new stand-alone power board enables usage of directly pluggable power supply units. This modular approach offers the possibility to realise power supply with any customer system easily accessible and individually pluggable directly besides a three-, five- or nine-slot-backplane.
