EKF wins patent dispute

Barleben, (PresseBox) - EKF-diagnostic GmbH with its registered office in Barleben, Germany, and the Swedish company, HemoCue are the parties in a patent case related to the European patent of HemoCue. This European patent on a microcuvette of HemoCue was revoked for Germany by the Federal Patent Court in Munich, Germany, on 2 May 2007. Generally, judgements can be appealed.

Mr Berthold Walter, General Manager of EKF- diagnostic GmbH, sees the position his company represents confirmed by this judgement.

Concurrently and due to the patent dispute, EKF-diagnostic GmbH has developed a new microcuvette and applied for a patent. Presently, this microcuvette is being evaluated and will be introduced on the market in the near future
