This year´s event, held in February 2016, featured nearly 100 exhibitors covering about 5.000 square meters. More than 3.600 attendees from Mexico, Uruguay, the United States, Guatemala, Spain, Brazil and other countries participated in the international exhibition and conference. In addition, the number of sponsors nearly doubled, emphasized Adrian Escofet, President of the Mexican Wind Energy Association (AMDEE). The president noted that this figure and the exhibitor increase of 20 % illustrates the increasing investment interest in renewable energy in Mexico, particularly in the wind sector. “The Energy reform has opened the door for independent power producers to develop large-scale power projects via contracts with the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) aimed at expanding and modernizing the grid.” said Pedron Joaquin Coldwell, Secretary of Energy (SENER).
All participants gain advanced technical and regulatory knowledge about the wind energy market and its growing potential on the most important B2B event for the wind industry in Mexico. Senvion is the world leading manufacturer of wind turbines in the on- and offshore field. Marie-Danielle Laggner, Manager External Communications, stated, “At Mexico WindPower, Senvion presented itself for the first time to the Mexican Market. Thanks to the broad exposure at the fair and the distinguished audience, we could not only lead very promising discussions and make important contacts, but also gained a good brand visibility for the whole market.” All exhibitors are invited to participate at the matchmaking program, which is organized by E.J.Krause de Mexico to connect companies with Mexican ministries and national and international associations to find new business partners.
The next edition of Mexico WindPower will be held March 1st – 2nd, 2017 at Centro Banamex in Mexico City. Further information is obtainable via website www.mexicowindpower.com.mx and our international offices.
