VIDEO RELEASE: F-gases don’t stand a chance with us!

eChiller: Cooling with Water as a Refrigerant (R718)

(PresseBox) (Feldkirchen, )
„Tim, Felix and Sarah are looking for the optimal solution for their refrigeration applications. Legal requirements for refrigerants and energy efficiency are increasing globally in a push to promote climate protection. This situation is creating some major headaches for Tim, Felix and Sarah.“

That’s the opener of the new video released by Efficient Energy GmbH in which the three protagonists search for a future-proof alternative to conventional refrigeration solutions.

But WATCH THE VIDEO and see yourself.

The HVAC&R sector is known for its conservatism and inertia. But today more than ever the industry would have to wake up and draw the consequences from legal requirements such as the F-gas regulation. Many actors still seem to be misinformed or at least surprised that the regulation in force since 1.1.2015 is actually implemented. Similar to the diesel scandal, one tries here to hush up the effects, to lull the customer with supposedly better replacement refrigerants and to praise the price stability maintained by bunkered or even illegally purchased refrigerants. "No need to panic" is the tenor of the refrigeration industry.

However, a little panic would be quite appropriate: The F-gas regulation applies to all areas of private and commercial refrigeration and thus affects every operator of a refrigeration system in which F-gases are used. To protect the climate, the EU-wide regulation aims at reducing the CO2 equivalent of fluorinated greenhouse gases by almost 80% by 2030. The measures to implement this ambitious goal inevitably result in restrictions for operators of refrigeration systems such as bottlenecks, price increases and refilling bans of refrigerants, restrictions on the maintenance of existing plants or the acquisition of new plants.

It’s high time to question the operational availability of refrigeration units, reconsider the refrigerants currently used and find ways to switch from greenhouse-gases to natural and sustainable refrigerants!

Benefits of using the eChiller:
  • F-Gas regulation does not apply
  • Energy- and cost-efficient
  • Environmentally-friendly
  • Eligible for BAFA-subsidies

Efficient Energy GmbH

Efficient Energy GmbH is an innovative manufacturer and system supplier of environmentally-friendly refrigeration technology, based in Feldkirchen near Munich, Germany.

The company uses pure water (R718) as the refrigerant in its eChiller product range, thereby entirely avoiding fluorinated refrigerants. The eChiller models are the only chillers worldwide which use the natural safety refrigerant water (R718) as the refrigerant, offer outstanding energy efficiency, and are manufactured in mass production.

The eChillers already comply with the F-Gas Directive and any refrigerant-related safety requirements.
The eChillers' cooling capacities range from 20 to 45 kW depending on model, and the individual units can be scaled modularly to up to 300 kW. The refrigeration machines are ideally suited to cooling server rooms, buildings and industrial processes.

Efficient Energy GmbH helps its customers overcome the inreasing regulatory challenges of refrigeration technology, and offers them long-term, sustainable solutions with its eChiller model range. With its outstanding cost efficiency and low CO2 footprint, companies benefit on many fronts.

The pioneering technology has also been noticed by politics and the media, and has received multiple awards for the eChiller. These include: the Deutscher Rechenzentrumspreis 2017 in the category "DC Air Conditioning & Cooling", the RAC Cooling Industry Award 2017, the Partslife Umweltpreis 2017, the Deutscher Kältepreis 2016 and EC's European Business Award for the Environment 2018/2019.
