Aerospace, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing environments can be challenging, so a robust sealing solution is a must. Dyneon's diverse range of perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) solutions offer long-lasting sealing applications that can also improve productivity and enhance environmental performance.
The range includes the newly developed 3M Dyneon Perfluoroelastomer PFE 40Z ChemShield, a peroxide curable FFKM, 3M Dyneon Perfluoroelastomer PFE 7301BZ, the enhanced 3M Dyneon Perfluoroelastomer E-21464 HeatShield (continuous at 316 °C with further improved compression set), and the FDA and USP VI compliant 3M Dyneon Perfluoroelastomer PFE 7502BZ ChemShield with allround superior chemical and thermal resistance (continuous at 275°C).
Lightweight construction components for engines
The combination of Stanyl® polyamide 46 from materials producer DSM and 3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomers has created a unique two-component material to support the growing trend for lightweight automotive construction.
Primer-free FKM and PA 46 has an excellent characteristic profile for use in the economical two-component injection moulding and vulcanisation process that is increasingly used replacing metals in application and hazardous solvent based primers in bonding processes.
Dyneon Fluoroelastomers offer high chemical resistance against oils, fuels and other chemicals at temperatures up to 230°C, giving more freedom for new construction designs and assembly techniques. In addition, the two-component process reduces production cycle time - as verified by the German Institute for Rubber Technology.
