Changes in the management team of DVS: Dr.-Ing. Roland Boecking takes up his office

(PresseBox) (Duesseldorf, )
The new year of 2014 is starting with a new General Manager for DVS - German Welding Society. Since the beginning of the year, the 52-year-old Dr. Ing. Roland Boecking has been the boss of the society.

Dr. Boecking, a qualified building locksmith and wrought iron craftsman, studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Dortmund, with Design and Materials Technology as his main subjects. Furthermore, he became a Welding Engineer (SFI/EWE) at the Welding Training and Research Institute (SLV) in Duisburg in 1992. After his studies and his doctorate, the father of two was, from 1991 to 1998, a Scientific Employee at the Professorship of Materials Technology at the University of Dortmund and a Member of the Management Board of DVS's affiliated company at that time ISOT GmbH (Innovation Centre for Welding and Surface Technology in the Dortmund Technology Centre). In this way, Dr. Boecking already got acquainted with DVS some years ago. Also due to his office as the Deputy Technical Manager of DVS in 1999 as well as due to his many years as a personal member, he is optimally familiar with the structures and activities of the society.

From 2000 to the end of 2013, Dr. Boecking worked in industry in the field of surface technology (electroplating and thermal spraying), most recently as the Managing Director of a medium-sized enterprise in the Rhineland region. At the head of DVS, he is now devoting himself, above all, to the fields of research and technology as well as education and certification.

Berthold Kösters who has worked as a commercial employee in various functions at DVS since 1992 and as the Deputy General Manager of DVS already since 2006 will also continue to assume responsibility, in particular, for the fields of personnel, finances and organisation as the Deputy General Manager.
