Für den jüngsten Spross der Familie gilt selbstverständlich dieselbe Ausstattung wie für die „großen“ CoolMatic Kühlschränke: Ihn zeichnet ein vollhermetischer Danfoss BD35F-Kompressor mit integrierter Steuerelektronik, der Unterspannungs- und Verpolungsschutz, der rechts/links wechselbare Türanschlag sowie die besonders sichere, doppelte Verriegelung aus. Zudem besitzt der CRP-40 einen stufenlos einstellbaren Thermostaten.
Der auf eine Anschlussspannung von 12 und 24 Volt ausgelegte kleine Kompressor-Kühlschrank ist mit einer mittleren Leistungsaufnahme von 40 Watt besonders sparsam mit der an Bord verfügbaren Energie und arbeitet dabei in höchstem Maße effektiv. Er eignet sich neben den Standardanschlüssen des Bordnetzes ebenso für den Solarbetrieb und kann per optional erhältlichem Netzadapter auch über die verschiedenen Stromnetze von 110 bis zu 240 Volt betrieben werden. Ebenfalls als Zubehör erhältlich sind Standard- oder Flush-mount-Einbaurahmen.
Das Gerät ist e-zertifiziert. Der kompakte luxuriöse Kompressor-Kühlschrank kostet 649 Euro.
