DC kits make RV air conditioners fit for mobile operation
The Dometic GROUP is the only manufacturer to offer DC kits for mobile operation as optional extra for its air conditioners. This unique offer means customers can get everything from a single source: all components are perfectly coordinated, everything works fine right from the start.
The DC kits come from WAECO and may serve as a good example that the two air conditioning specialists, Dometic and WAECO, have already effectively pooled their product development resources under the umbrella of the newly formed Dometic GROUP.
There’s a choice of three DC kits with different performance levels, features and functions. DC-Kit-1, for example, is designed for a continuous output of 1000 watts, while DC-Kit-2 provides continuous operation at 1600 watts. Both standard kits have the same features and functions: an inverter with sinusoidal output voltage (including a 230-volt socket for the air conditioner), a charging current distributor with low-voltage protection to manage the air conditioner’s power supply, a priority circuit for 230 volts and a remote control. The DC-Kit-3 comfort version, by contrast, comes with a high-quality sine wave inverter. The unit turns 12-volt battery power into a pure 230-volt sine wave voltage – just like that from a household power socket. This adds another benefit to the DC-Kit-3 comfort kit: a second 230-volt socket for power-intensive or sensitive electric appliances, e.g. an espresso machine.
