The innovative split air conditioner consists of two core components which are fitted to the rear wall of the cabin. Unlike common industry practice, it is factory-precharged with refrigerant, so it can be used straight away. The CoolAir SP-900 is ideal for truck cabins with a roof pitch of more than eight degrees, for vehicles where a roof-mounted unit would mean to exceed the maximum permissible height of four metres, and for trucks with roof-mounted structures, such as car transporters. Fitting the SP-900 split air conditioner is fast and easy thanks to dedicated fastening frames for specific vehicles. Required for installation of the condenser unit, these fastening frames are available as optional accessories for all common truck models of Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo. The advantage about this solution is that the vehicle-specific frames use the vehicle’s existing fastening points. This makes for “minimally invasive” installation with barely any mark left on the rear wall, which helps retain the vehicle’s value, even in case of a leased one.
The WAECO CoolAir SP-900 uses a high-performance compressor to create a pleasant, individually adjustable climate inside the truck cabin. The compressor-powered system has an unbeatable advantage over evaporation systems: it dehumidifies the air in the cabin and keeps it pleasantly cool at the same time. Moreover, the compressor will give full performance even on muggy days with high air humidity. The hermetically sealed refrigeration system of the SP-900 requires virtually no maintenance. There’s no need to fill up with refrigerant or water. Cleaning water tanks, like in other systems, is not necessary either.
On top of that, the WAECO CoolAir SP-900 gives a great deal of safety. Being a recirculating air system it works with the windows closed, which minimises the risk of burglary and attacks. The SP-900 also ensures that the vehicle engine is ready to start at all times. An intelligent battery guard takes care of that. Should the battery voltage sink below an individually adjustable value, the air conditioner turns off automatically. Needless to say, the air conditioner is e-approved to protect the sensitive vehicle electronics.
A total of three blower settings and four individually adjustable nozzles provide an optimum air flow distribution in the cabin. A digital display and a remote control add to the comfort. The extremely quiet-running cross-flow fan ensures an undisturbed sleep and, therefore, genuine rest and recuperation for the driver while stationary. Last but not least, the WAECO CoolAir SP-900 is not only suitable for stationary operation, but for mobile use as well.
