It simplifies and speeds up data entry, reduces input errors by haptic feedback, and saves space and costs, as an external keyboard can be abandoned. The brightness of the keyboard and display can be set independently as required. For example, a fully illuminated keyboard is not required in outdoor areas and sunlight, but a very bright display is required for good readability.
