Canatu partners with Display Solution to deliver innovative touch display solutions with enhanced outdoor readability and new design forms

(PresseBox) (Gilching, Bavaria, Germany and Helsinki, )
Canatu, a leading manufacturer of zero reflectance and flexible transparent conductive films and touch sensors, partners with Display Solution, a leading developer and marketer of customized industrial and digital signage solutions. The partnership will result in unprecedented multi touch products with amazing features in function and form.

Canatu, leading manufacturer of conductive films and touch sensors, today announces that it is partnering with Display Solution, a leading developer of customized industrial and digital signage solutions, to collaborate on innovative and disruptive touchscreen technology.

The partners will use Canatu's CNB™ (Carbon NanoBud®) Film technology and Display Solution's controller equipment to develop touch display solutions which provide excellent sunlight readability. Touch displays with new design possibilities in flexible or 3D forms will also be offered. The joint touch display solutions are mainly targeted towards automation, medical, digital signage or point of sale (POS) markets for the touch applications with 4,3" up to 15" displays.

Canatu's next generation touch technology, together with Display Solution's innovative display products, enables new kinds of designs, combining a display with a matrix-touch sensor and other inputs like mechanical buttons, sliders and wheels in one homogeneous touch surface. These types of touch applications fit well in any kind of operational terminals that require robustness, durability, excellent sunlight readability and endurance in different environmental conditions.

CNB™ transparent conductive film is not limited by the brittleness or metal fatigue associated with the ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) or metal mesh structures that are commonly used as transparent conductive material in today's touch displays. CNB™ touch sensors also offer a higher display contrast due to ultra-low reflectance and haze, which makes them perfect for outdoor applications. Better contrast enables reduced backlight usage in touch displays.

CNB™ Films can be stretched up to 100% without losing their electrical conductivity, providing opportunities for new kinds of innovative 3D-formed or stretched touch sensitive surface designs. Production costs and performance of the CNB™ sensors are competitive with the existing and emerging transparent conductors on the market.

"We are pleased to partner with Display Solution which is an expert in enhanced touch display solutions for demanding outdoor conditions," says Risto Vuohelainen, CEO at Canatu. "We can leverage Display Solution's long experience in introducing new touch products to the markets of automation, medical, digital signage and point of sale, "continues Vuohelainen.

"Partnering with Canatu offers us an innovative technology which will help our customers design products in a completely new way," says Norbert Feuchtgruber, CEO at Display Solution AG. "Through the flexibility, easy integration and production process we expect this product to uptake in the European market segment and find interesting, new and exciting opportunities for their utilisation."

Display Solution's manufacturing facilities are located in Germany. The company has several major customers in Europe, Asia, the USA and the United Arab Emirates. CNB™ touch sensors are manufactured and delivered from Canatu's own factory in Helsinki, Finland.
