Dimetis BOSS© FILE Transfer Manager Debuts at NAB 2008

Sends Media Files over WAN’s at Unsurpassed Speeds, Saving Time and Money

(PresseBox) (Dietzenbach, )
Dimetis GmbH continues expansion of its Dimetis BOSS© Platform with the debut of Dimetis BOSS© FILE Transfer Manager at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention- NAB 2008, April 14-17 in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Dimetis Booth (#C10919 in the Bavarian Pavilion ).

Dimetis BOSS© FILE Transfer Manager moves large media and data files over diverse, wide-area networks of any type, faster, more reliably and securely than conventional file transfer protocols. Available as a stand-alone software application module or integrated into the Dimetis BOSS© LINK Manager (see separate NAB 2008 press release), it performs large file transfers at significant throughput rates.

Dimetis BOSS© File Transfer Manager is ideal for scheduled or ad-hoc high speed, high quality media file transfers over wide area networks for contribution work-flow, collaboration, back-up and/or distribution purposes. The software scales with network requirements and supports point-to-point and multipoint applications, adjustable transfer/bandwidth rates, quality of service, forward error correction, and encryption levels along with 3rd party accelerators. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) design facilitates easy integration with Billing systems and a Walk-Thru-Transfer wizard greatly simplifies the file set up and transfer process.

Stated Dr. Shahin Arefzadeh, CTO, “The Dimetis BOSS FILE Transfer Manager is a natural application for broadcasters and carriers who, in addition to their real time video transport requirements, also need to move massively large media files at speeds unattainable through conventional file transfer technologies. As a new integral component of the Dimetis BOSS Platform, we can now provide this non-linear media service in a unified management system together with our real time video applications across all types of broadcast and telecom networks. The end-result is that it increases both network and customer efficiencies as well as throughput, saving time and money.“
