Reducing Time to Market, Cutting Costs, Adding Quality and Continuous Improvements

A Preview on our Newest Integrated Test and Manufacturing Solutions for Apex 2008

(PresseBox) (Stutensee-Blankenloch, )
Center stage at booth 149 will be a comprehensive range of innovative software and hardware test technologies. All the latest developments in Test and Manufacturing will be on show, once again underscoring Digitaltest s leadership in the supply of advanced test solutions.

Flying Probe Tester Condor II
With unique drive technology, linear motors, and closed-loop technology, Digitaltest s second generation Flying Prober Condor MTS-500 is 30% faster than previous models while assuring high accuracy in fine pitch applications. Options include Digitaltest's proprietary 'Soft Landing' technology, guaranteeing damage-free testing of even the most delicate high-density boards as well as integrated boundary-scan. We will also demonstrate the new Front Loader solution, a perfect shuttle concept with easy front board loading.

A real success story for Digitaltest - The Migration Program- our answer to legacy equipment problems Digitaltest has also invested substantially in creating migration tools necessary to take old programs and fixtures from major ATE companies and migrating them to our state-of-the-art test platform. Our answer is an open concept to translate existing and debugged test programs and provide fixture adapters to run different fixtures on our test systems.

Due to the non-multiplexed system structure, our MTS300 test system is able to emulate existing test programs and fixtures from other platforms like GenRad, Teradyne, Agilent etc. Our ability to exchange programs and fixtures with other test manufacturers' systems effectively makes the MTS300 a 'neutral platform', which can save both time and money.

Customers still using ATE equipment designed in the 1970's and 1980's are now facing problems with part obsolescence issues and field service support for those outdated systems. The MTS300 presents a method to overcome these problems without wasting any previous investment.

New Digitizer software from Digitaltest
The electronic manufacturing business is getting faster and faster. Every day an updated version of an existing product or a brand new product is launched. With typically short life cycles, everyone is focusing on new innovations and nobody pays attention to the older products. On many occasions older electronic designs need the test and repair of these older technology boards designs. The Digitizer simplifies the generation of test data for these boards for which no CAD data is available. This revolutionary technology aids in the "reverse engineering" required to generate detailed board description and layout files for any existing board, especially aimed for mil/aero requirements. It isn t hard to imagine how time consuming and costly it is to generate fixture information and test programs manually from layout films or assembled PCB s. On a two layer PCB it is a huge task, on a multi layer PCB it is virtually impossible. A simple telephone PCB with approx. 400 nets would take at least two weeks, just imagine the time required for a more complex microprocessor unit with over 1,200 nets.

New Digitizer software from Digitaltest offers easy and professional technology that enables the user to generate the required layout information from any assembled sample board. The user-friendly graphical interface assists with the generation of component and test data and with the help of the CONDOR Flying Probe system, the evaluation of the electrical nets is a fully automated task.

New or enhanced Software tools:

Highlights for QMAN:
New Integrated Environment: QMan Enterprise Manager (QEM)
New Failure Importer
New Monitor Tool
RWS UI Enhancements

QMan Enterprise Manager (QEM)
QEM is the QMan integrated environment. It provides convenient means to create new databases, adjust system configuration, view and edit tables through the Database Explorer, generate reports through the Reports Explorer and launch all server and client system components.

Highlights for C-LINK DTM Release 3
A new release for C-LINK DTM is coming soon with lots of new features and enhancements:

- HTML reports with hyperlinks
- New protection server
- User notification when a board is opened by another user.
- Schematics enhancements include displaying of non-accessible nets, a test coverage report and DFT checks.
- New BOM converter
- New CAD Import Wizard
- Importing BOM data from CAD files.

The new Failure Importer can run either as a Windows Service or in the normal mode. A Failure Importer Controller is developed with a set of very useful features to control all running FI instances on a certain workstation.

New Software Version GenFast:
Digitaltest launches also a new software version without Visual Basic. It offers easy programming thanks to its new graphical tabular format allowing fast test program handling and simple navigation. The clearly structured GUI enables users with limited test software experience to use the system. With multiple views single statements as well as complete component groups can be debugged together.

We look forward to showing you what is new with Digitaltest. Stop by Booth # 149 for product demonstrations and/or additional information. If you would like to schedule an appointment to meet with a member of our staff, feel free to call us at (925)603-8650 and we ll set that up right away.
