Interactive advertisement with fun factor

Playful B2B communication: the web-special from productpilot.com

(PresseBox) (Frankfurt am Main, )
The amazing interactive experience seems rather unspectacular at first: a glass ball with faint patterns of landscapes and search words is lying on a white table. But then the camera zooms gradually in on the ball, delving into the universe of the ball and taking the audience with it into a fascinating world of experience. Three-dimensional panoramas of Frankfurt and the surrounding area move across the screen, a click of the mouse then bringing the user flying over stunning squares such as Hauptwache and Römer, into one of the office towers, back out again, over the airport, the trade fair complex and back to the skyline again. Entertainment pure. And an abundance of little hints tempt the user to click on them, bringing the camera out of long focus, hurtling through museums, aeroplanes and trees into the detail of the subject worlds that surprises the audience with further sophisticated gadgets.

"Our objective when designing this web-special was to provide detailed information about the strengths of productpilot.com and to present this information in such a way that the user can perceive this information completely intuitively whilst at the same time being entertained. We could of course have just put these messages into a PowerPoint presentation - but it wouldn't have been as fun to read them," Henric Uherek, Marketing Manager of productpilot.com said about the intention of this web-special that is setting new standards in the world of B2B communication.

The core statements about the most important features of the manufacturer and product portal of Messe Frankfurt, "productpilot.com", become an interactive experience. "It is advertising that doesn't make any promises, but can be experienced firsthand," said Uherek.

The "Das Maingold" agency was responsible for the design and programming of the web-special, pushing the technical possibilities of the web to the limit with flash for this prestigious project. The highlight: the five subject worlds behind each of the five core statements, for example "available all year round", "quick product search" or "high-quality content", become apparent only at a second glance and intrigue the user into discovering more in an entertaining way. For example, whoever finds the correct button can control day and night as well as the four seasons, whilst in another subject world, everything that takes place can be controlled via webcam entirely without using a mouse or keyboard. The visualisation of the "available on the move" subject is equally as enthralling: you leaf through a product portfolio on a mobile phone screen and are constantly moved into a different, suitable environment depending on the product.

"The strengths and benefits of productpilot.com can hardly be better described," marketing expert Uherek added. Over 22,000 manufacturers are represented along with their products in this cross-sector directory, including high quality exhibitors at Messe Frankfurt. productpilot.com makes this portfolio easy to search and provides semantic references. "For example, whoever is setting up a nightclub not only needs lighting and sound technology, but also fabrics, furniture and accessories, cool paper for the invitations and contacts with the beauty industry for possible joint ventures. All of this can be found together on this B2B portal - professional buyers need look no further."

Whoever would like to express their personal opinion about the site can do so directly in the web-special and also be in with a chance of winning an iPod-nano 8GB: "Simply click on the button in the relevant place and publish on Twitter."
