Zur Eröffnung am 10. Oktober gegen 11.00 Uhr stellen nach einem Grußwort von Deutschlandradio-Intendant Willi Steul Journalistenschülerinnen der Axel-Springer-Akademie vor, was sie unter journalistischer Qualität von morgen verstehen. Als Diskutanten wurden unter anderem gewonnen: Sissi Pitzer vom Bayerischen Rundfunk, Tobias Eberwein vom Erich-Brost-Institut, Diemut Roether von epd medien, Anton Sahlender von der Main-Post, Prof. Huub Evers von der Hochschule Tilburg und Christian Höppner vom RTL-Programmbeirat.
DJV-Bundesvorsitzender Michael Konken bezeichnete das IQ-Herbstforum als "Pflichtveranstaltung für alle, die es mit dem Qualitätsjournalismus ernst meinen". Es reiche nicht aus, die journalistische Qualität als wichtigstes Kapital der Medien in Sonntagsreden hervorzukehren. "Journalistische Qualität muss gelebt werden."
Die Initiative Qualität im Journalismus (IQ) ist ein Zusammenschluss von Berufsverbänden wie DJV, dju und BDZV, Presserat, Bildungsinstitutionen, Kontrollgremien, Wissenschaftlern und Vereinigungen der Medienbranche (www.initiative-qualitaet.de).
