Launched in July 2012, the project explores Germany's World Heritage Sites along eight different routes. Texts and photo galleries provide vivid presentations of all of them, and each site is introduced with a short video. People such as the keeper of the Bremen Town Hall wine cellar or a conservationist at the Wadden Sea explain their relationship to the World Heritage Site in question and suggest what no visitor should miss.
Originally launched in German, English, Portuguese for Brazil and Russian, Wonders of World Heritage has been expanded to include 14 additional language versions. Visitors to the site can now learn about the fascinating World Heritage Sites in Albanian, Bengali, Chinese, French, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Macedonian, Persian, Polish, Romanian, Serbian, Spanish and Ukrainian.
The project includes a variety of TV reports, which appear in DW's travel magazine Hin & Weg as well as in its English and Spanish versions, namely Discover Germany and Destino Alemania, respectively.
