Laut australischem Außen- und Handelsministerium, ist Indien der siebt größte Handelspartner des fünften Kontinents. In den Jahren 2010 und 2011 verzeichneten beide Länder einen gemeinsamen Handel von 21 Milliarden Australischen Dollar (15,7 Milliarden Euro). In diesem Zeitraum betrugen australische Exporte nach Indien 18,2 Milliarden AUD, (13,6 Milliarden Euro), während Indiens Exporte nach Australien sich auf 2.8 Milliarden AUD (2,1 Milliarden Euro) beliefen.
Zu ihrem zehnjährigen Jubiläum hatte die CeBIT Australia 2011 mit Deutschland erstmals ein Partnerland ernannt. Das Partnerlandkonzept wird seit vielen Jahren auf den internationalen Leitmessen CeBIT Hannover und der HANNOVER MESSE erfolgreich umgesetzt.
Die CeBIT Australia ist die größte jährliche ITK-Messe mit umfassendem Konferenzprogramm in der asiatischen-pazifischen Region. Sie wird von Hannover Fairs Australia veranstaltet, einer Tochtergesellschaft der Deutschen Messe AG in Hannover. Die CeBIT Australia feierte im Jahr 2011 ihr zehnjähriges Jubiläum.
