Delta Electronics today announced it was honored with the 10th annual Global Views Magazine CSR Champion Award in both the Teamwork Efficiency (which assessed a company’s overall performance) and the Best Long-term Contribution categories. Delta is the only enterprise that has received the Champion Award in two categories for two consecutive years after new assessment criteria lifted competition restrictions on past winning projects. Delta’s success in sustainability of business operations and social contribution is widely recognized by its stakeholders. Delta has received the Champion Award nine times since the inaugural Global Views CSR Award in 2005–more than any other enterprise in Taiwan–and was on the honor roll from 2008 to 2010. Ping Cheng, CEO of Delta Electronics, and Shan-Shan Guo, Executive Director of the Delta Electronics Foundation attended the awards ceremony.

“Delta’s business strategies align with our CSR philosophy as we care about all of our stakeholders’ interests. Delta is dedicated to continuously ensuring sound corporate governance. Our Compensation Committee and Audit Committee consist of outstanding independent directors that help the company evaluate performance and monitor potential risks to serve the best interests of our shareholders. In the past one and a half years, Delta achieved excellent revenues and profits, thanks to all of Delta’s employees. Moreover, our market capitalization has doubled to more than USD13 billion due to wide recognition from global investors,” said Mr. Ping Cheng, CEO of Delta Electronics.

In regards to environmental conservation, Delta is committed to its mission “To provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow.” From 2010 to 2013, Delta’s energy-saving products saved a total of 11.9 billion kWh of electricity which is approximately the total increase of the electricity consumption in Taiwan during the past six years and also equivalent to a 6.38 million tons reduction of CO2 emissions. At our major production bases electricity consumption is 40% lower for every US$100 worth of products in 2013 compared to 2009. Delta also has 11 certified green buildings globally. Our Taipei headquarters is the latest certified diamond-rated green building, having introduced the Delta building automation solution and energy management system and achieving up to 58% energy savings

“Delta has been involved in the promotion of environmental and energy education since 2000. Delta Electronics Foundation focus on three main aspects—energy, climate, and green buildings. We strive to raise public climate change awareness and continuously develop talent in green architecture to establish best practices for green buildings. Moreover, aiming to influence carbon reduction policies, we actively participate in international climate change conferences and analyze the latest IPCC reports to generate comprehensive discussion among the public. Cultivating environmental initiatives for more than 10 years, we have expanded our influence and attracted more than 10 million participants with our initiatives,” expressed Shan-Shan Guo, Executive Director of the Delta Electronics Foundation.

The 10th Global Views CSR Award comprehensively assesses an enterprise’s corporate social responsibility programs. In addition to occupational health and safety, environmental protection, education and promotion, and teamwork efficiency categories, the best long-term contribution category was added to introduce corporate responsibility to society.
