A Camera That Thinks

(PresseBox) (Essen/Barsinghausen, )
At Security in Essen this year, eyewatch GmbH, the German manufacturer of intelligent IP-video-server cameras, presents an innovative, high-resolution camera platform in Hall 2 on Stand 318. This eyewatch camera is noteworthy because its technologies are entirely based on IT standards. Applications which, up to now, had to be reserved for centrally-based servers, can now be directly installed and executed within the eyewatch camera.

The eyewatch concern has made its objective the integration of image analysis, intelligence and computing performance, for DVR/NVR, in the camera. The eyewatch Software Developer Kit (SDK) gives the manufacturers of video analysis and other applications tools to develop uses or to port them to the eyewatch platform and install them flexibly in the camera.

The system architecture based on Linux overcomes the limitations of centrally-based image evaluation systems. Analysis and evaluation are carried out direct in the camera instead of centrally. In the future renowned providers of video-analysis software will develop on the eyewatch platform and offer appropriate solutions. The first examples will be displayed at the exhibition.

A microchip especially developed by eyewatch speeds up all time-critical processes in image analysis and simultaneously reduces the loads on the CPU. In this way image processing and image analysis can proceed in parallel at optimum speed.

The eyewatch camera platform is positioned in the mega-pixel segment and, due to its form and integral IR illumination, it is ideal for use as a day-and-night camera. The high image quality is achieved by using two 5-mega-pixel sensors. The first product for this platform is the PXA 270, which is available at the exhibition.

eyewatch cameras are compatible with the ONVIF standard and support the extended-PoE standard. This makes them economical to install. The rigorous elimination of moving mechanical components and its design as an IP65-classified product makes it extremely robust and weather-resistant. In addition, the integral microphone and high-performance loudspeakers ensure full audio support.

"eyewatch Manager" video software

In Essen eyewatch GmbH will present a video-management solution. The software "eyewatch Manager" provides comfortable administration of cameras and alarms, and so is the ideal partner for small and medium-sized applications while avoiding the additional expense of an external VMS solution.

eyewatch GmbH, a company in the deister electronic Group, is a German supplier of intelligent, high-resolution IP-video security systems and video-management software. The products are available from distributors and qualified sales partners.
