CARBO has a fleet of around 50 cylinder vans equipped with Tally MIP 480 mobile printers. The fast vehicle printer is extremely popular due to its robust construction and easy handling. The use of the MIP means faster delivery, less administration work and therefore an enormous time saving. The mobile printer, which has been developed specifically for use in vehicles, offers diverse connection options as well as extensive accessories. Quite simply it is the reliable all-rounder for all companies who issue delivery notes and invoices on site. The printer can be installed both horizontally and vertically in the truck it fits in everywhere.
The drivers are equipped with hand-held computers and built-in scanners. Upon delivery the print data is sent to the MIP printer via Bluetooth. Each gas cylinder is equipped with an adhesive label which contains the legible cylinder number as well as the bar-code. The driver scans the cylinders on site and then the delivery note and the invoice are printed. All the numbers of the delivered and returned empty cylinders are recorded on the delivery note.
Previously the cylinder numbers were read by the driver and entered manually on the delivery note. This had the following disadvantage: From time to time there would be entry errors and the administration for this was very timeconsuming. This is because the data had to be reentered later at head office to update the cylinder numbers in the ERP system and to issue invoices for the customers. Since CARBO has been using the mobile Tally printers from DASCOM alongside their own scanner solution, the administration work has reduced considerably. When the cylinder numbers are scanned the data is automatically transferred to the system once the driver returns from the delivery, says an excited Dr Juergen Kraus. The result is: There are no more entry errors and the extra administration is no longer necessary. Also the invoicing directly on-site is another great advantage of this solution, says Adam Golaszczyk. The gas cylinders are checked regularly by TÜV. At the check they get a new coating and a new label with their own cylinder number. The MIP 480 is also used successfully here.
At CARBO we are very pleased with the mobile printers of DASCOM. As a result the larger tankers such as those used to supply breweries will also be equipped with a similar solution in the future. The carbon dioxide manufacturer is also considering equipping its partner companies who sell the compressed gas cylinder of CARBO. The MIP 480 impresses anew every day. Robust, easy to use, fast printing, variable installation options, diverse connection options, easy paper handling - everything underlines just how good the MIP from DASCOM is.
