This project concerns the three assembly building sites 660.3 - 670.B - 680.1 in Hangar 6 which are dedicated to the assembly of fuselage barrels and flooring of the series A319-A320-A321.
The main purpose of this project was to raise the capacity for the manufacturing of these series and consisted in optimizing the accuracy of the assembly jigs, the energy efficiency as well as the ergonomics and working security conditions.
Apart from the initial basic steel construction which was mainly repaint in order to achieve a friendlier and more brightly lit working environment, the whole assembly building sites were renewed:
• Modernization of the working platforms, stairs and railings to improve security.
• Replacement of the motors at the jigs to ensure their final position for more accuracy without any slackness and more energy efficiency.
• Integration of special new feature in the automatic drilling system.
The accuracy of all points affecting the geometry of the aircraft had to be adjusted within a specified tolerance and was checked with latest Laser Tracker technology.
This new project continues a successful history of CTI installations at Airbus and its affiliated companies.
