CTI Systems - Full range for air cargo handling

Complex material handling systems allow just in time and just in place provisioning

(PresseBox) (Lentzweiler, )
Adapted from CTI Systems S.A. successful realized projects in industrial automation, advanced installations for air cargo handling between air- and landside at airport cargo centers are being offered.

CTI Systems S.A. provides customized logistic solutions for storage, transport and distribution of goods and materials. As manufacturer of turnkey material flow and storage solutions for heavy loads in various industries, CTI also delivers the complete range of equipment for air cargo handling between air and land side docks.

Designed in various dimensions and in accordance to individual requirements, such modular handling systems comprise:
  • Truck docks for loading/unloading trucks and cargo loaders
  • TV's, ETV', and AGV's
  • Shuttles and lifts
  • Pallet movers
  • Roller decks, right-angle decks
  • Turntables
  • Pass-over decks
  • Automated storage & retrieval systems (ASRS), with integrated climatized cells
  • Customized control and warehouse management software (WMS)
all appropriate either for ULD containers, pallets or roll box transport or combinations hereof.

Single components can be provided up to a fully equipped cargo center, with necessary automation and handling components to interconnect air- and land-side docks of the building and all under consideration of the specific environment.

Project size of a single workstation, truck dock, an extension of a present system or a green field turnkey system would be required - CTI Systems S.A. offers systems from stand alone, manually operated items to a fully automated installation.

One of the latest systems upgrades was realized for end customer Turkish Airlines, Istanbul, with an automatic Cargo Handling System for ULDs, as replacement and as storage capacity expansion for their existing system, comprising one 10ft ETV, for 2 Level 20ft FR-Decks, expandable to 3 levels, including automated I/O lanes on landside and airside, as well as scales, automatic control system, safety and HMI.

Our most recent project has been realized in 2013 with LuxairCargo who awarded CTI Systems with the modernization of its CargoCenter at the Luxembourg airport by integrating new temperature controlled storage facilities for the new Heathcare & Pharmaceuticals Center.

The 3000 m² facility offers two temperature-controlled zones with permanent temperature monitoring and fulfils all WHO and IATA requirements, as well as GDP compliance, which deals with guidelines for the proper distribution of medical products for human use. With six dedicated temperature-controlled truck docks, the layout of the infrastructure guarantees very short transit times from aircraft to truck and vice versa.

CTI Systems' role consists of replacing existing traditional storage places with temperature-controlled places inside the stacker systems. The new cooling cells are equipped with insulated sectional doors. Due to availability reasons the whole new conveyor equipment will be supplied with galvanized surfaces. The new cooling cells will be integrated into the full automatic loading and offloading process to and from the airside operated by automated ETVs (elevating transfer vehicles for airport cargo terminals).
