The Future is Now – See Industry 4.0 MES in Action at Productronica

Visitors have a chance to see Critical Manufacturing’s Industry 4.0 MES in production at ASM’s Award-winning Smart Factory

(PresseBox) (Porto, PORTUGAL, )
At this year’s productronica exhibition, Critical Manufacturing will be showing its innovative Industry 4.0 (I4.0) Manufacturing Execution System (MES); a solution that is lighting the way to the future to produce sophisticated products and devices in an integrated smart factory environment. For the first time, however, visitors will not only be able to view demonstrations at the exhibition booth but will also have the opportunity to tour the nearby ASM factory to see the benefits of this ground-breaking MES in action.

Held in Munich between 12-15 November, productronica is a leading forum for electronics development and production technology. On each day from 12-14 November, Critical Manufacturing will be hosting an exclusive two-hour ‘MES Plant Tour’ program which will include a guided tour of the assembly operations of sophisticated placement equipment and the highly automated Printed Circuit Board production on ASM’s own SMT lines in their award winning smart factory. As well as seeing the future-ready MES in action at the plant, attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the system with ASM Factory Executives and MES experts. The ASM factory in Munich has been recognized for its efficiency and flexibility, with high levels of digitalization and automation, and is considered a prime model of the smart factory of the future.

Chris Parsons, VP Marketing at Critical Manufacturing, said: “There is no better way of understanding the benefits of Industry 4.0 and how our MES builds a pathway to smart manufacturing than by seeing the system live in production. The electronics industry is fast-paced and needs a system that offers the flexibility and scalability to deliver today and into the future. The MES is modular and designed from the ground-up for the smart factory, but it also integrates legacy systems and equipment so that businesses can upgrade at a pace that suits their business goals.”

Critical Manufacturing’s modern MES offers a complete manufacturing digital twin of shop floor operations and the unique capability to implement unlimited possibilities for Augmented Reality, scenarios using data from across the MES. It can integrate both legacy and smart IoT devices and comes with a rich selection of native modules for Advanced Scheduling, Experiments management, Equipment Integration and Automation and many more, in a single system. It is designed to help complex discrete manufacturers to significantly increase manufacturing efficiency, productivity and quality.

Parsons continued: “It is not just the MES’s advanced capabilities we want customers to see, but its flexibility, ease of use and the unparalleled level of visibility to complete shop floor operations, which means faster decision making. Any issues that arise can be resolved quickly and deep insight into processes enables continuous improvement. In combination, this means the system is constantly working to both improve efficiency and enhance final product quality.”

Critical Manufacturing MES experts will be on hand throughout the productronica exhibition at the ASM booth located in HALL A3, STAND 377, to discuss how businesses of all sizes can benefit from the I4.0 manufacturing revolution with augmented MES at its backbone.

Parsons concluded: “The future is now – and we can help manufacturers of all sizes overcome the challenges they face in producing increasingly sophisticated and customized devices with high efficiency and superb levels of quality. Everyone’s journey to I4.0 will be different and our MES is designed to give the flexibility and the right capabilities to handle this. The only thing we know for sure is that businesses who choose to ignore the benefits of I4.0 will be left behind by their competition. The time to plan is now and we are here to help.”
