The German Venture Capital company Creathor Venture has successfully sold its stake in Swiss scheduling platform Doodle AG. As part of this exit, the Swiss media company Tamedia AG acquired 49% of Doodle's shares. Terms of this deal will not be disclosed.
The Doodle AG operates doodle.com since 2008, the world's leading platform to schedule meetings and appointments, and won several awards with its service. The free, basic schedule service is available in 29 languages and is used each month by more than 8 million unique users. In addition to the basic service Doodle offers premium services to individuals and businesses.
Since Creathor Venture invested in Doodle in 2008, the number of users has increased eightfold. "We are content with the success and profitable development of Doodle," comments Dr. Gert Köhler, CEO of Creathor Venture, "We are pleased, that Doodle has found a strong partner with Tamedia to continue their positive development". The portfolio of leading media company Tamedia AG includes, among others the news platforms "20 Minuten Online" and "Newsnetz", the online market places car4you.ch, homegate.ch and the job-platform of the "Jobup AG" as well as "FashionFriends".
Together with the Doodle team around the founders Michael Naef and Paul E. Sevinç, Tamedia intents to grow internationally.
