ContiTech Air Spring Systems now also offers air actuators that fulfill the requirements for ATEX certification. This makes them suitable for numerous applications in industrial sectors with explosion-prone areas. As Category 2 and 3 equipment (Equipment Group II), they can be used particularly in atmospheres containing gas or dust. The ATEX-certified products from ContiTech are available as single-, double- and triple convolution products with diameters from 80 mm to 950 mm.

"The certification of our air actuator products was an important step. We can now supply our industrial customers with a safe and standardized product for explosion-prone atmospheres," says Dr. Olaf Kluth, segment manager at ContiTech Air Spring Systems. For over 50 years, ContiTech air actuators and air springs have been used for a wide range of applications, such as pressing and compressing material compounds. Thanks to their unique properties and long service life, the quality products convince particularly impressive under demanding operating conditions.

Elastomer bearings for industrial vehicles and plants
At bauma 2013, ContiTech Vibration Control, a specialist for vibration isolation and noise reduction, is exhibiting a number of components from the SCHWINGMETALL® product range that lend themselves to diverse application possibilities. Bushing components compensate, for example, for torque movements in driver cabs and provide for enhanced driving comfort, while barrel-and-flange elements recommend themselves, in particular, for the suspension of engines, power units and driver cabs. Conical bearings suit themselves as universally deployable power unit bearings for medium loads and are optionally equipped with end stops or anti-breakaway components. The displayed solutions help the customer to deaden shocks and structure-borne sound, to isolate machine vibrations and to noticeably enhance riding comfort.
