- General expertise in drive equipment: new kits, components, and services in 16 languages

- VDO supplies new tire pressure monitoring sensor / ATE presents broad-based brake portfolio
Top-quality products + A to Z service = success for workshops. The automotive supplier Continental embodies this formula more than ever before with its new services for the automotive aftermarket. Be it belt drive components, air springs, tire pressure monitoring sensors, or diagnostic devices, the company will place its workshop services in center stage at Automechanika from September 16 to 20, 2014, in Frankfurt am Main. At the For.0 forum, stand A05, visitors will also be greeted by a number of new additions to the product portfolio.
For all your drive needs
The ContiTech Power Transmission Group will premiere a new product at Automechanika with its new accessory drive kits complete with V-ribbed belts and spanners. ContiTech is also systematically expanding its range of belt drive components. The water pumps in the "timing belt kits with water pump" range, which was recently expanded, meet ContiTech's quality standards - as do the spanners, TVD disks, and assembly equipment. Customers will benefit from the drive specialist's extensive range of services and expertise, and receive everything from a single source.
Visitors to the stand will also be able to test a new smartphone app, which provides general and technical data about the products. This gives workshops another way of easily calling up the product information they require. For detailed information and installation tips, the app is linked to the Product Information Center (PIC), ContiTech's online service. An optimized version of the PIC will go online in 16 languages in fall. The diverse array of languages will enable even more markets to make use of the extensive services on offer.
Range expanded: air springs for the replacement market
The continuous expansion of the range of air spring products for the replacement market is part of the strategy pursued by ContiTech Air Spring Systems. By the time of Automechanika 2014, the company will be able to supply more than 2,000 air spring references worldwide. The basis for this is formed by three standalone brands, which are tailored to the diverse needs of customers in the replacement market. For example, air springs from the ContiTech premium brand, comprising the expertise and quality of the original equipment manufacturer, are available to customers in the replacement parts business, too. Since these are original air springs developed and produced as original equipment, the ContiTech brand is guaranteed to meet the highest quality requirements that fulfill the needs of vehicle manufacturers. The PHOENIX and PRIME-RIDE® brands complement the offering for the replacement market. These serve as an alternative - particularly with regard to price - to copied air springs without the customer having to significantly compromise on quality and spring characteristics.
ContiTech Air Spring Systems also offers a comprehensive service to customers in the replacement market. For the ContiTech and PHOENIX brands, this means that a product in stock can be delivered to dealers upon request within 24 hours in Germany and 48 hours in the EU. Digital services such as product labeling with a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) and additional languages for the successful air spring smartphone app are now also available to customers in Europe.
VDO REDI-Sensor: VDO presents easy-to-assemble tire pressure monitoring sensor
VDO's Automechanika highlight will be the VDO REDI-Sensor for Europe. This is a sensor for latest-generation tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and is designed to make tire servicing easier. In line with an EU regulation, which came into force in the fall of 2014, tire service providers must prepare for the widespread introduction of TPMS in all new passenger cars. The intelligent product architecture of the REDI-Sensor makes tire servicing as simple as possible. The sensors, which are approximately the size of a 50-cent piece, are simply bonded to the inside of the tire. Since the VDO REDI-Sensors are already programmed at the factory, the workshop does not have to perform the programming itself. Automechanika will also showcase VDO's line of diagnostic products, which Continental uses to supply automotive workshops with high-performance multi-brand diagnostic devices and information for fault diagnostics and repair work.
ATE makes brake servicing easy
With its ATE brand, Continental supplies wear and spare parts, testing devices, specialist tools, a solid, single-source knowledge base, and high-quality services for brake servicing - one of the most important sources of revenue for automotive workshops. ATE offers the independent replacement market an extensive range of OEM-quality brake products. It covers all the relevant vehicle brands worldwide, and includes wear and hydraulic parts, brake fluids, and electronic components. As with original equipment, special importance is attached to product quality and safety for all ATE products. ATE will present a strong portfolio of services and brake products at Automechanika. The product highlight will be the innovative ATE ceramic brake linings, which give drivers the choice to opt for brake linings that generate little brake dust and enable exceptionally comfortable braking.
