Turkish CompuGROUP subsidiary PROMED lands seven-figure order

(PresseBox) (Koblenz/Germany / Istanbul/Turkey, )
CompuGROUP Holding AG, one of the world's leading e-health providers, has emerged as the successful bidder in an invitation to tender issued by the major insurance group AXA. The order is worth a total of €1.2 million for three years and will enable PROMED, a Turkish subsidiary of CompuGROUP, to continue to expand its cooperation with AXA.

The AXA Group, which is one of the leading providers of health insurance in Turkey, will commission PROMED with the management of insured patients scheduled for in-patient and out-patient treatments. PROMED will also provide medical decision support services to monitor and enhance the treatment they receive. This will enable AXA to avoid invoicing errors and unnecessarily expensive extensions to the diagnostic and treatment process, thus decreasing its accountancy and management costs.

PROMED has a highly qualified team of doctors and nurses in place to manage round-the-clock enquiries from hospitals seeking to ascertain whether AXA will assume responsibility for the treatment of certain patients or not. This clearing system will be extended to encompass the monitoring of medical procedures which have been planned. PROMED will map these procedures against the medical history of policyholders. PROMED will pass on information to the hospital if discrepancies are discovered or in the event that recent studies or guidelines recommend a different course of action. This will enable diagnostic and treatment plans to be optimised. AXA has also entrusted the internal auditing and contract negotiations of hospitals to PROMED as well as Electronic Claim Processing Systems in medicine.

"Our overarching aim is to increase the efficiency of the health system by 15 percent by deploying intelligent software", explains Jan Broer, Chief Marketing Officer of CompuGROUP. "We are delighted that this order has been awarded to CompuGROUP. Our innovative products in particular clearly demonstrate that decision support has become a key success factor for healthcare providers and that it has firmly established itself alongside medical treatment and technology as the third main pillar of the healthcare system", he continues.
