CompuGroup Medical concluded a sale and purchase agreement for the hospital division of SIVSA on 10.12.2010. The Spanish company develops and distributes hospital information systems in Europe, North Africa and South America. The turnover of the hospital division is estimated at 3.4 million euros for 2010, at an EBITDA of 350,000 euros.
With this acquisition, CompuGroup Medical is consistently continuing its growth strategy. The provider of medical information technologies now has locations in 22 countries around the globe and is also represented in South America for the first time. Today, the company already has the largest range of software products among medical service providers around the world. Closing of the transaction is scheduled for February 2011 and is subject to prior demerger of the healthcare department from what is currently part of SIVSA, Soluciones Informáticas, S.A, Vigo, Spain.
SIVSA has been developing software applications for over 15 years, including for hospitals and laboratories. The company is the market leader in north-west Spain and has additional locations in Portugal, Brazil, Chile and Morocco. The hospital division of SIVSA is an ideal supplement to the existing CompuGroup Medical portfolio: in addition to medical information systems (AIS), hospital information systems (KIS) are now also covered on the Spanish market. Furthermore, the company group is now present in four additional countries for the first time.
