Belgiedata develops and sells doctor information systems (DIS) to approximately 2,400 general practitioners in Belgium. The company is a market leader in their section with a market share of 25%. The software solutions support the physician in patient treatment and medical office administration. Revenues of 700,000 euros are planned for 2010, with an expected EBITDA of 145,000 euros.
CompuGroup Medical is continuing their strategy of expansion with this latest acquisition. Their coverage of physicians with medical software solutions is already the largest worldwide. With the acquisition of Belgiedata, the company now has access to the Belgian healthcare market.
After the company has successfully been integrated into the corporation, the international usable solutions of CompuGroup Medical now also will be made available for the Belgian market and, via an interface, Belgian physicians will then be able to use additional helpful modules from the product family of software-assisted medicine. They provide the physician with decision assistance during treatment, mobilize efficiency reserves and support with an intelligent cross linking of all participants.
"CompuGroup Medical combines the tried and true with innovations and therefore taps the market's enormous vertical growth potential," summarized Frank Gotthardt, chair of the corporation. "With Belgiedata, we have acquired a profitable company with a very loyal and longstanding customer base. Through the acquisition of the market leader, we have immediately obtained a strong position in the Belgian healthcare sector," states the company founder in conclusion.
