Within the scope of the 9th Malaysian five-year-plan, several district and regional hospitals will be outfitted with digital information systems. After the evaluation process being completed at the beginning of the year CompuGROUP's local subsidiary in Malaysia, Profdoc Sdn Bhd, was given the go-ahead to start implementation at the Bintulu Hospital, through a local government contractor. This is a 284-bedded hospital owned and operated by the Ministry of Health of the Malaysian Federal Government.
It is now Profdoc's mission to successfully implement a HIS for the Bintulu Hospital. The project will also include providing several clinical sub-systems and services including Business Process Reengineering, Implementation, Training of users as well as Post-Implementation Support & Maintenance.
CompuGROUP utilizes its strength by sharing expertise and technology across countries and continents enabling knowledge transfer between healthcare providers. The HIS implementation for Bintulu Hospital will be the same product being used throughout the entire Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. This is just one example that the substantial cost efficiency and high quality of CompuGROUP's products and services are based on the systematic use of best practice.
"With the implementation of the HIS, relevant medical information based on patient data is made available at the right time and the right place", is how Rolf-Henry Grønlund, Managing Director of Profdoc in Malaysia, explains it. "CompuGROUP grows both organically and by making acquisitions. This optimum balance facilitates the growth required to achieve targets. For that reason, we are confident that we will be able to accelerate the potential growth of our products and services in emerging markets in Asia." adds Grønlund.
