By the start of 2008 Comfone Key2roam had signed 100 committed customers. Now, only a year later, the roaming business of 100 satisfied networks is managed efficiently over Comfone’s hub. An additional 50 networks are currently under implementation.
Comfone’s Key2roam hub enables any mobile operator to establish multiple roaming relationships with networks around the world through a single, standard bilateral roaming agreement with Comfone. The service, fully compliant with GSM Association standards, enables global connectivity and simplified roaming procedures for mobile operators and includes signalling, testing, clearing and settlement, roaming management and additional value-added services.
Comfone’s history of developing and operating roaming hubs dates back to 1997, giving the company more experience than any other existing or emerging mobile hub provider. The company’s expertise and conviction in developing hub models for roaming grew further with the launch of the Comfone Key2roam Service in 2004. As of today, Comfone’s Key2roam hub has established and manages an impressive 1’500 roaming connections. During 2009, plans include the further roll-out of Comfone’s SMS Interworking Hub for Key2roam and the integration of MMS Interworking into the hub.
Mathias Prüssing, Comfone’s CEO, said, “The growth and development of Comfone’s hub roaming service has been phenomenal. I am very proud to be at the helm of such a visionary team and innovative company, whose efforts over the previous ten years are now being rewarded by a live working hub, proving our concept, as well as a rapidly growing roaming hub footprint, which is by far the biggest offered in today’s market.”
