Wiesenhof, a PHW Group company, and COLEXON have signed a memorandum of understanding for the promotion of roof areas.
In Germany, this is currently the largest roof area portfolio, which will be used for photovoltaic (PV) purposes. The objective of the cooperation between Germany's number one poultry brand and the leading system integrator of large rooftop PV power plants is, to rent the roof areas to investors for solar power plants. Due to this memorandum COLEXON is able to use 400,000 sqm of roof areas for PV installations. Wiesenhof's roof areas have a potential of nearly 19 MWp. Annually this would provide electricity for approx. 4,000 households and could save more than 16,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. In case of a successful commercialization of the roof areas until the end of 2009, both parties have shown great interest to continue and internationally extend the cooperation.
